We have some really exciting times ahead leading into our 6th year of being Door 84!

Door 84 is a Youth Club primarily and a registered charity based on Lowther Street in York, providing activities for young people aged 8 – 25. We have enthusiastic trained and qualified Play, Youth and Community Workers who cover projects which include DJ’ing, Dancing, Theatre, Arts and Football.  We are open three nights a week offering open access youth provision and we charge only £1 each session, keeping the costs low and accessibility high. We also offer regular trips, educational visits and residential weekends throughout the year. Currently, we have nearly 800 young people registered with us.

Our aims are;

• Provide a social and educational space for young people in York, as well as the local community, offering young people a welcoming and stimulating environment for personal and social development
• Deliver a range of activities to suit all tastes, interests and abilities
• Provide a welcoming and exciting space delivering social and educational opportunities for young people in York, and the local community
• Deliver interactive programmes that reflect the needs and aspirations of young people
• Offer positive opportunities for young people to engage with the local community and to create a sustainable and safe organisation/environment

Door 84 also runs a group called Community Sparks which is a Creative Arts and Social Group for adults with disability and also a networking opportunity for Carers and Support Workers. Staff, through consultation, create a programme of activities and deliver them with support of volunteers.
